Do I need a visa to visit Bhutan?

All foreign nationals visiting Bhutan require a visa, with the exception of Indian, Bangladesh and Maldives passport holders. This must be arranged in advance of travel.

How do I arrange my visa for Bhutan?

The Bhutanese visa is arranged in advance of travel by our local team. You will need to provide us with a scanned copy of your passport, after which an approval letter will be issued which you will need to show on arrival into Bhutan. Your visa will then be stamped into your passport. You will also need to travel with a spare passport photo for use on arrival

How much does a visa cost?

The visa fee of $40 USD per person is included in the cost of your trip. It is essential that your passport is valid for a minimum of six months from your arrival into Bhutan.

What happens if I am travelling via India?

If you are flying via India, then it’s important to note that on arrival at Delhi airport you will need to clear immigration and customs, collect your luggage, and proceed upstairs to check in for your Druk Air flight to Paro in Bhutan. Even though you are only transiting through Delhi you will require an Indian visa which is possible to arrange this online. Click here for more information.

Entering Bhutan

When you arrive in Bhutan, you must have to to hand a printed copy of your travel insurance policy (with covid related cover), a passport photo and your evisa approval certificate/letter.

You will need to show these items before boarding your flight to Bhutan and again at the immigration desk when entering Bhutan.
