Walking trails and waterfalls
The Cardamom Mountains aren’t unscalable heights, but gently rippling havens of natural peace and tranquillity. Situated just southwest of Phnom Penh, by way of the coastal mangroves of Koh Kong, these forested slopes provide the habitat for gibbons, monkeys and half of Cambodia’s bird species, including hornbills, pheasants and flycatchers. Walking trails within the Cardamom Mountains are plentiful and intriguing, many leading past waterfalls and along the banks of the Tatai River – don’t forget your binoculars.
